Wetlands Assessment of Kensico Eastview Connection Tunnel Construction Impacts

KARC Planning Consultants, Inc. provided a high-level assessment of the potential acreage of wetlands impacted by the Kensico Eastview Connection Tunnel construction activities at the Eastview project site located in Valhalla, New York. In addition, a study was provided to determine the potential acreage of wetlands that could be used for mitigation at four separate NYCDEP owned parcels in the general vicinity of Kensico Reservoir including two parcels of the Bear Gutter Creek property, as well as two additional parcels located on NYS Route 120 in the Town of North Castle, New York.

KARC completed two field visits to the parcels identified as a potential mitigation area and observed the conditions of the areas which were proposed to be converted to wetland areas. Identification of potential impacts dictated the amount and type of wetland mitigation area required by permitting agencies.

The report provided included a review of existing topographic, NYSDEC and NWI mapping, and soil surveys and a conceptual schematic site plan of the impacted wetlands at Eastview and the potential mitigation areas at Bear Gutter Creek and the additional parcels, which were forwarded to NYCDEP for their review and approval.
