KARC Planning Consultants secured site plan approval for the renovation of 15 North Cherry Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. As a locally recognized historic building, KARC worked closely with the project architect to identify and preserve key aspects of the building’s historic façade. The new 48-unit apartment building will also feature a ground floor commercial space, injecting new life into a growing neighborhood of the City. KARC worked closely with the City of Poughkeepsie during the site development process to dedicate a portion of the property for a future Fall Kill Creek trail.
KARC managed the team of consultants and completed all permitting including SEQRA documentation and Zoning Analysis. KARC coordinated with multiple City of Poughkeepsie agencies including the Waterfront Advisory Council and City Planning Board to receive site plan approval.
Governor Hochul recently announced that this project was one of ten transformational projects in the City of Poughkeepsie focused on housing, economic development, adaptive reuse, and downtown revitalization to receive Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant funding.
