KARC Planning Consultants, Inc. managed the team of consultants for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Blackhead Mountain Lodge, guiding the transformation of a legacy golf resort property into a modern, expanded hospitality destination. The project includes a 127-key hotel, lodge, restaurant, spa, and a network of scenic walking trails, re-establishing Round Top as a premier Catskills hospitality destination and supporting the Town’s long-term economic revitalization goals.
Approvals were received from the Town of Cairo Planning Board on June 5, 2025, following an 18-month coordinated review process
KARC served as the applicant’s lead planner, managing all aspects of the entitlement process, including SEQRA documentation, zoning and code analyses, and preparation of all Planning Board submissions. KARC represented the applicant at every Planning Board meeting and coordinated six public hearings, ensuring clear communication with the community and Board members and a meticulously document review record. The firm also led interagency coordination with the New York State Department of Health, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Green County agencies, and Town staff to secure all required approvals.
